National University Esports League Partners With Game

GAME has today announced that it will be the first title sponsor of The National University eSports League’s (The NUEL) League of Legends National Championship. The series will become the GAME National Championship, cementing the retailer’s commitment to eSports and the UK’s gaming community.

Founded by students in 2010, The NUEL was created to give gamers the opportunity to represent their university at eSports. It has seen a huge amount of growth over the last two years, expanding from 16 to over 100 teams – with 350 teams playing this year. The GAME National Championship’s goal is to allow university League of Legends players of any skill level to compete in an exciting tournament that takes place throughout the academic year.

The NUEL’s unique tournament format is designed to enable gamers to compete against others of the same ability. Pitching similarly skilled teams against each other ensures that the games remain competitive for everyone, from the leading teams to novice gamers and those who simply playing for fun.
