New UK Indie Freejam Games Unveil Robocraft at Insomnia 51

New UK indie Freejam will be unveiling for the first time it’s UGC eSport Robocraft gaming experience at the coming INSOMNIA51 Gaming Festival. The event is to be held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, between the 18th and 21st of April 2014. This event will give gamers their first opportunity to get a hands on feel of the Robocraft gaming experience on a large booth within the events ‘Indie Zone’ play area.

Game Director Mark Simmons commented: “We’ve not really courted any press or marketing to date; our current user base – 300k strong and growing fast – has resulted from a few YouTubers doing some cool videos mainly from Russian and Japan. The videos show the game has an interesting mix of seriously well engineered battle tanks fighting Manga characters with laser cannons.”

Freejam is hoping to make the west take notice by taking the game to a few selected game shows over the next 6 months.

Freejam’s baby Robocraft is best described as the illegitimate lovechild of Minecraft and World of Tanks. This ambitious UGC MMO allows users to build their own battle vehicles that drive, hover and fly, and take them online in team based eSport style combat. This is an eSport where not only your twitch skill but also your engineering ability is pitted against the rest of the users.
