Valve announce $1m major tournaments

It was announced by Valve shortly before the MLG qualifier this weekend. Every Major (Starting with the MLG Colombus one) will now have a 1 million dollar prize pool.

Let’s hope that the production and the games will be worthy of such a prize pool.

8 teams to grab a spot for the MLG Colombus Major

Last week, 16 teams gathered together to the offline qualifier for the MLG Major. 4 teams and only 2 spots per group.

After 3 Days of fragging, 8 teams managed to get their spot:

• G2 Esports
• Mousesports
• Splyce
• Gambit Gaming
• Flipside Tactics
• Team Liquid
• Counter Logic Gaming
• Cloud9

The biggest surprise is the qualifying of Splyce who got their spot by beating CLG and Vexed. Also note that the Brazilians of TempoStorm didn’t manage to qualify and finished 3rd in their group.
