Last night Trion Worlds and XLGAMES started the first Beta for what’s poised to be the best MMO of 2014, ArcheAge.

Having already reached more than 1 million players, the community support for ArcheAge has been huge.

The first beta event, called “A Brighter Age,” started yesterday, and continues on through Monday, July 21st. Trion will continue to hold future beta events during the week as well as overlapping weekends, with specifics to be announced at a later date.

Created by Jake Song, best known for his international online smash LineageArcheAge is a vast MMORPG adventure, free from pre-defined paths and progression.

Players can create unique and elaborate homes, build farms that drive the world economy, and sail their ships to uncharted lands where they can construct massive castles as they lay claim to rich and vibrant realms. ArcheAge’s PvP system allows players to fight for glory in huge battles on land and sea, or even shun the two factions and live the life of a pirate!
