Square Enix have recently made a rather ground-breaking announcement that affects those that purchased the PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and plan to upgrade to the PS4 version when it’ll be released after the beta starting in February.
According to the announcement, PS3 players will be able to upgrade to the PS4 version for free, effectively removing the need to purchase the game for the new platform. Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to include those that purchased the PC version of the game.
Many people have been holding out on purchasing the PS3 version in order to wait for the PS4 version, but now Square Enix have given these buyers no more reason to wait by what seems like the perfect deal.
As well as this, the beta of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will begin on the same day of the Japanese launch of the PS4 in Japan, on February the 22nd, 2014.
More details are expected to be disclosed soon, as Square Enix strengthens its server structure and equipment in order to be ready for the PS4 release of the game.
