Featuring a new format SLTV StarSeries season XI will have $27,000 in prizes along with an additional $8,000 for travel support.

Just 9 days have past after the last season ended, with fnatic defeating Natus Vincere in the final, a new edition of the SLTV StarSeries has been announced with a larger prize pool and a new format with the LAN Finals scheduled for October 18th-19th at the CyberArena in Kiev, Ukraine.

The prize pool for season XI will be $27,000 (£17,000), which is a $5,000 (£3,000) increase compared to the previous season, whereas travel support will remain the same at $2,000 per team.

The reigning champions fnatic and mousesports have both decided to opt out of this season, while NiP will be back after missing out on the last one.

Nostalgie, Berzerk, OnBots and USSR, season Xs bottom four teams, have been relegated to the SLTV ProSeries, while Ukrainian A-Gaming and Russian squad oneshot have been promoted in to the StarSeries. Filling the last few places are the new UK team The Lone Rangers, dAT and Copenhagen Wolves.

The new format will see the teams split into two groups instead of the usual big league, which means each team will have 7 matches in the regular season.

Group A Group B
Natus Vincere NiP
Virtus.pro HellRaisers
Titan LDLC
Copenhagen Wolves Epsilon
OverGaming Unwanted
ESC The Lone Rangers
OneShot A-Gaming

The team who tops each group will secure a direct spot at the LAN Finals, while teams placed 2nd-5th will battle for the other two spots via online playoffs – a double elimination bracket scheduled for September 27th-29th. Whereas teams that place 6th-8th in both groups will be relegated to the ProSeries.
