More than 6.6 million units have been sold for the Assassin’s Creed Franchise in the UK.

Ubisoft decided to reveal this figure to the public to help boost the popularity of the franchise and their latest addition, ‘Black Flag’.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is the sixth game in the series and Ubisoft developers are preparing to launch a big marketing campaign to support its launch. They plan on having the usual online, TV and print campaigns but now, they are adding a major campaign tour for 20 UK Universities.

Ubisoft’s UK brand manager Omebline Wallon said: “This year the anticipation is high, especially with the game coming on PS4 and Xbox One. Consumers are very excited about what the new consoles have to offer.”

Omebline Wallon continued: “The Assassin’s Creed franchise has already sold over 6.6 million units in the UK and over the past few years it has become a staple in gamers’ diaries. Since we announced Black Flag in March, we have supported it at every beat of the campaign. We will be increasing our media presence as we near launch.”

Black Flag launches October 29 on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U and will launch November 22 for Xbox One and PS4.
