14 top FIFA players from all across the United States, Canada and Mexico (7 on PlayStation, 7 on Xbox One) entered the ESPN Wide World of Sports arena on Sunday 13th May looking to secure themselves a spot at the FIFA 18 Global Playoffs in Amsterdam. The Playoffs will then determine the top 32 competitors who will secure their qualification for the 2018 FIFA eWorld Cup Grand Final.
The Xbox leg of the tournament saw PSG-signed player Gordon ‘Fiddle’ Thornsberry take top spot after defeating Nawid ‘GoalMachine21’ Noorzai (who’s recently beaten world champion Spencer ‘Gorilla’ Ealing). Both players had actually already qualified for the FIFA eWorld Cup playoffs, so the chance was given to the third place winner to qualify
The PlayStation leg saw Mexican-American player Redona ‘Joksan’ Tello emerge victorious, fending off John ‘xbleu’ Garcia in the final to claim the top spot after claiming the win with a 4-3 aggregate score.
With Gordon ‘Fiddle’ Thornsberry and Nawid ‘GoalMachin21’ Noorzai’s inclusion in the 2018 FIFA eWorld Cup, this meant that a third place playoff spot was given to Mexican newcomer Tigre, who beat Dylan ‘Dylan Jr’ Gagne 6-3 on aggregate (at his first ever LIVE event) to seal his ticket to Amsterdam.

The FIFA 18 Global Playoffs in Amsterdam will take place between 28-30 May and then continue between 1-3 June.
