Reality Bytes: ‘Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom’ Transports Us to the World of VR in Brand New “Mixed Reality” Trailer

Immersive entertainment studio, Maze Theory, today lifted the lid on an exciting new trailer designed to showcase how players will walk in the shadow of the Shelbys in the forthcoming immersive narrative VR game, Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom.

The brand-new ‘Mixed Reality’ spot brilliantly illustrates how players will be transported into the Peaky Blinders’ world the moment they put on their VR headset ahead of the game’s debut on Meta Quest 2 and PICO 4 on 9th March 2023.

It’s a one of a kind trailer designed both to showcase players right inside of the game, with glimpses of iconic locations, such as Garrison Lane, and the groundbreaking technology both it and its fellow virtual reality releases take advantage of in the modern era. Its launch coincides with Wishlists going live on the Meta Quest 2, as of today.

“It’s hard to convey to those currently without a VR headset just how much the experience in a game like Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom’s differs from other action adventure games out there,” said Tim Jones, Game Director at Maze Theory. “We wanted to create a trailer that brings that advantage to life, in much the same way that we set out to bring the world of the Shelbys to life.”

Maze Theory can today also confirm Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom is heading to both PAX East in Boston from March 23rd to March 26th and WASD Live, which runs from March 30th to April 1st from London’s Truman Brewery.

Inspired by the BAFTA-winning drama, Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom is an original story written in collaboration with Peaky Blinders’ producer and brand owner Caryn Mandabach Productions, and with series creator and writer Steven Knight. The game is created in partnership with Banijay Brands, the commercial arm of content powerhouse Banijay.

At launch, Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom will offer:
