World of Warcraft Warlords of Draenor Pre-Purchase Now Available

Comment

Yesterday, World of Warcraft launched the pre-purchase of their latest expansion ‘Warlords of Draenor’ which will be out later this year. With this they have also released the option to boost a character to 90, being an existing character you don’t want to level anymore or a brand new character you’ve always wanted. This service was to be included in the new expansion but has been released before hand. With the instant boost to 90 and the level cap still being 90 (before being raised to a 100 in Warlords of Draenor), players can get the full experience of the late game content before the next expansion comes out.

When you boost a character to 90, you will receive:

  • 150 gold
  • 4 Embersilk (22-slot) bags
  • A stack of 20 food items
  • Full set of spec-appropriate Item Level 483 (green-quality) gear
  • If a boosted character was already level 60 or above, their existing Primary Professions and First Aid are bumped up to level 600
  • A faction-specific flying mount, a traditional Wind Rider for Horde or Gryphon for Alliance
  • Artisan flying, that’s one rank below max flight speed
  • Northrend, Kalimdor/Eastern Kingdoms, and Pandaria regional flying skills trained

The character log in screen is where the option will appear when you have upgraded to Warlords of Draenor or purchased the service separately. You get to customize your character (like normal) then chose which specialization and faction you want to be. You will then be spawned on the Timeless Isle in game so you can get right to daily quests and farming higher item level gear to fully enjoy all the content.

There is currently a standard upgrade to Warlords of Draenor, which just includes the next expansion and one free boost to 90. This digital purchase is £34.99.

On top of this, they also have a Digital Deluxe Edition that you can pre-purchase for £49.99 which includes a Dread Raven mount and a Dread Hatchling pet to be used in-game. It also includes one free boost to 90 (like the standard edition), Starcraft II portraits and a Diablo III Warsong Pennant. If you want the Digital Deluxe Edition of Warlords of Draenor but can’t afford it at the moment, you can purchase the Standard Edition and then upgrade to the Deluxe Edition at a later date to stagger the costs.

The boost to 90 service can also be bought separately without pre-purchasing the next expansion, this costs £40 on its own. This can be purchased irrespective of having the Warlords of Draenor expansion.

Warlords of Draenor will also be available as a retail-exclusive Collector’s Edition, which comes with the in-game extras from the Digital Deluxe Edition along with a hardcover art book, behind-the-scenes Blu-ray/DVD set, Warlords of Draenor mouse mat, and CD soundtrack featuring music from the expansion.
