Xbox One Controllers Now Work on PCs

Today Microsoft released new PC drivers for the Xbox One controller. This means you’re now able to use your console controller to play compatible games on the computer. The drivers are expected to launch widely through a Windows update in the near future, however, if you can’t wait you can download them today via the direct links below, courtesy of Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb.

“We know our fans have wanted PC compatibility, and we know they wanted to be able to use the Xbox One controller with the same games and applications they have been playing with using the Xbox 360 controller,” Microsoft said in a statement. “We can’t wait for them to play their favorite PC games with what we consider the best controller ever made and we’re excited for fans to experience the improved D-pad, redesigned battery compartment, new comfortable design, and offset analog sticks.”

Once you’ve installed the drivers, your Xbox One controller will work with any game that featured gamepad support for the Xbox 360 controller. All you need to do is download the drivers, connect your controller to your PC through a micro USB cable, and you’re set.
