Unreal Engine will be the headline sponsor for Ukie’s upcoming mini games showcase on the 15th and 16th July in Liverpool.

The expo forms part of the inaugural, government-backed International Festival for Business, where two of the days will specifically focus on the UK games industry, including a games business showcase and a series of workshops, such as a tax breaks one, from both Ukie and UKTI. This programme of games-related activities will attract decision makers from the games industry as well as international investors and other VIPs.

Members of Epic’s Unreal Engine team will be on hand to discuss the new £19 subscription model as well as answer questions about the latest developments for those looking to build and deploy for PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, HTML5, and VR platforms. In addition, the Unreal Engine team will sponsor the games industry networking drinks party on the evening of 15th July at the Panam bar on the stunning Albert Dock.

Mike Gamble, European Territory Manager for Epic, said: “We are keen to support UK events and talk with a cross section of UK developers from large studios through to hobbyists who are just starting to develop their own games. We will be on hand to advise on the use of the new UE4 tools and also on our accessible subscription service.”

Ukie CEO Dr Jo Twist added: “This Festival aims to shine an international spotlight on the whole of the UK. We are delighted to have Unreal Engine as the headline sponsor for the showcase. They add to the international flavour of the event as well as our strong line-up of talented and creative exhibitors. This event is a chance for the UK and games businesses to show off their innovation and creativity to an international audience, on home turf.”
