Minecraft colour codes are used in chat and in-game commands. These can change the colour of dyed leather armour, change the colour of text in the game and assign team colours. You can format the text in Minecraft by using the section sign (§) and in the Bedrock Edition the section sign can be entered into world names, signs, in the chat and renaming items. In the Java Edition, section signs may be used in server.properties, pack.mcmeta, world titles, and server names.
