Top 10 Games You’ve Never Heard of But Need to Play

Any gamer will tell you that the gaming world is filled with a treasure trove of exceptional games just waiting to be discovered. There’s so much fun in that. Not everyone will end up playing the latest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and that’s okay. With various Asian online games yet to be discovered, as well as some indie games that are bound to be instant classics, we’ve looked at some games you’ve never heard about but that are going to give you hours of entertainment.

Stray

Humans have been obsessed with cats since the beginning of time and we can totally understand why. Our feline companions are lovable, highly intelligent, and self-sufficient. And now in 2022, you’ll finally have the opportunity to get a front-row seat in the life of a stray cat. Set in a cybercity giving us all the cyberpunk feels, you’ll play as a stray cat navigating the city, solving puzzles as you try to escape to a brave new world. Along the way, you will befriend weird and wonderful creatures and robots such as a flying droid named B12. Be as stealthy and nimble as a cat can be and you’ll have hours of fun!

Wordle

What makes us interesting as human beings are that we can enjoy a multitude of things yet never show interest in them. This is exactly what’s been happening with Wordle. While many have not heard of this (we play it religiously), others have become fully engulfed in this “basic” game. Now we use the term basic very loosely here. First launched in October 2021, Wordle was created by Josh Wardle, a Welsh software engineer. While this game is extremely popular amongst readers (go figure), more and more people across the globe are participating in the fun. So much so that millions complain about the obscure answers at least once a week.

So how does Wordle work? The aim is to guess the five-letter word in six tries or less. Each guess must be a valid five-letter word (sorry folks, you’ll have to think here). Each time you guess a word, the tiles will reveal a color to show if you are on the right track. A green tile means you’ve guessed the correct letter in the correct spot. A black tile means you’ve guessed a letter that will not feature in your word at all. And a yellow tile means that you’ve guessed a correct letter but that it’s in the wrong place. A new Wordle is available every day. There’s even a variation called Heardle where you need to identify a song and artist in the first few seconds of a song.

Two Dots

Gaming does not have to involve brainpower to be fulfilling. Sometimes just sitting and playing something simple on your mobile is enough. This is where Two Dots comes in. Now at first, this mobile game may seem like it’s for children only, but no, that’s not the case. This free-to-play puzzle game works like this: the aim is to travel through different worlds completing puzzles and collecting certain objects. The puzzles you solve will see you connecting dots. You will need to connect the dots in either a straight line or in squares. But it’s not that simple.

While connecting those dots, you will have a timer making it even more interesting to beat your level. You need to concentrate here and look for patterns and as you work through the levels, they become harder and harder. Visually, the game is a masterpiece with its brilliant user interface but that’s not all. Two Dots has its own Spotify playlist, and the songs are mellow. Another standout for this game is the fact that while it is free to play, it is completely ad-free, and we couldn’t be happier. So, grab your phone and download Two Dots and play on the couch for a few relaxing hours, you need it, we all do!
