1. Pong

Pong is the game that everyone thinks of when someone says the start of gaming, the first game and for most people, the best arcade game. It’s a simple tennis game that was released in 1972 by Atari which sparked the creation of incredibly popular games such as Pac-Man and Space Invaders.

2. Pac-Man

Released in 1980 by Namco Pac-Man was originally called Puc-Man in Japan but the name was changed when it was released outside of Japan due to the easy manipulation of the name to say something else in the English language. At the time Pac-Man came out it smashed all the popular games at that time which were all space shooters.

3. Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong was originally unsuccessfully released in Japan in 1981 but when it came to North America and Europe it took the market by storm. Due to the high success of the game in these markets it helped Nintendo take over the gaming industry in 1980 and 1990.
