Navi wins Counter Pit League Season 2
One of the last tournaments before the MLG Colombus Major, the Counter Pit Season 2 finals were held last week in Croatia. 8 of the best teams came to battle for the title and the sweet prizepool of $40,000
After a predictable round of 8 (Except for the massive EnvyUs-RNG upset) and after some intense battles in the semifinals and in the final it is NaVi that manage to, in the end, get the win against Astralis (2-1) to take the title.
NaVi’s performance was helped by a godlike Guardian, definitely in top-form at the moment.
The Ukrainian team is improving rapidly and is showing Fnatic that they are ready for the Major, and that this time, a 2nd place won’t be enough.
However, the star of the show was definitely the hypeman.
Cloud9 wins the iBUYPOWER Invitational
The NA scene also had it’s tournament this weekend with the iBUYPOWER Spring Invitational. 10 American teams came to battle for a $16,000 prizepool.
In the end it’s Cloud9 who wins it all in the Grand Finals against Liquid (2-1). The Dust 2 map Liquid won was the only map lost for Cloud9 during the whole tournament.
This tournament has shown a very poor performance of the Brazilians of Luminosity and Tempo Storm, who had shown us very good counter-strike in the past weeks, let’s hope they get back in shape soon.
Cloud9 is ready for the Major, and is definitely decided to show off something great, Columbus will play host to some exciting Counter-Strike.
